POLLINATION PARADISE
(ongoing project)
Flowers and insects are part of our planet’s most beautiful and essential relationships. Their delicate connection plays a vital role in sustaining life on our planet.
Garden flowers and wildflowers are more than symbols of beauty. They are part of a complex ecological system, offering food and shelter to countless insects while depending on them for pollination. Bees, butterflies, moths, beetles, and other pollinators carry pollen from one flower to another, allowing plants to reproduce. This seemingly small act supports entire ecosystems and contributes to the food systems on which humans and animals depend.
As habitats disappear and insect populations decline, the balance between plants, insects, and the wider environment becomes increasingly vulnerable. Insect populations face a general global decline, with broad estimates suggesting that over 40% of insect species are threatened with extinction. Through my work, I want to draw attention to these essential forms of life and encourage a responsibility to protect it.
A single flower can support an insect; an insect can help create seeds; those seeds can become plants that nourish an entire ecosystem. Pollination is both a biological process and a powerful metaphor for connection, cooperation, and renewal.
